I was looking at the schedule - I see I-9 is on week 1 - I think butterflyspain made it - beautifully, by the way, but I am totally terrified of it

I was thinking we would start with the super easy ones and work up to the more complex ones

the problem with starting with super easy ones is during the months when you don't have much time to sew you're left with nothing but hard blocks.

the point of doing the Dear Jane Swaps was to get some experience with the blocks and most people did choose very easy jane blocks for the swaps.

I9 is a very easy block - its paper pieced in 3 sections without needing to match up any points.

you can always skip doing it and save it for another day when you feel comfortable attempting the block.

I'm looking forward to doing the hard blocks with you guys, even if it is just in cyber space. Everyone has their own spin on things, and it will be good to see the different methods and hear how everyone works it out.

I'm keeping in the back of my mind that I can always remake any block that turns into a disaster.

that's true - I remade a couple of the mini 9-patch ones because I got the 9-patch part too big - didn't have enough sense to just trim them to fit at the time - and I thought they would have been super-easy. Well, they were, just the different parts didn't fit together. :?

    Ah, well. Learn and live.
